Market Doctor Celebrates World Malaria Day 2023 with Market Clean-up and Boat Clinic
In celebration of World Malaria Day 2023, Market Doctor, in partnership with Shalina Healthcare, implemented a market clean-up at Ikosi market, Ketu, Lagos State, and conducted a boat clinic in a riverine community in Ojo LGA, Lagos State.
Market Clean-up
The market clean-up exercise was aimed at improving sanitation and preventing the breeding of mosquitoes, which are the vectors of malaria. Cleaning agents such as brooms and detergents were distributed to the market men and women who joined in the clean-up exercise. Free malaria drugs and mosquito repellents were also distributed.
Boat Clinic
The boat clinic was taken to a riverine community in Ojo LGA, Lagos State, to provide free malaria testing and treatment to the people of the community. Health education on proper environmental sanitation to prevent mosquitoes from breeding was also given. Free mosquito nets and mosquito repellents were also distributed in the community.
